With this one-day guided bus tour, you can visit the island of La Gomera from Tenerife.

Once we arrive on the island of La Gomera, the route starts in the south, climbing up towards the Garajonay park, which is in the centre.

The Garajonay Park is a laurisilva forest reserve considered to be the best conserved living fossils forest in the whole of Europe.

Today, it is one of the National Parks as well as being a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

Do you know where the name Garajonay originates?
Legend has it that in the times of the original inhabitants, there lived a couple who fell in love, a Gomeran princess called Gara and Jonay, the son of the Tenerife king, both of whose families disapproved of the relationship. As a result, the desperate couple decided to kill themselves, by throwing themselves from the highest point in the island. .. A romantic and sad story which has given rise to the name of this beautiful and unique laurisilva park.

Continuing onwards and before reaching the centre of the Park, you will have the chance to stop and photograph the Agando Rock, which, with its imposing height of 1,246 metres, stands out as the most emblematic natural monument in La Gomera.

Next, we go to La Laguna Grande, a flat esplanade, bare of vegetation, in the central area of the Park where most of the hiking routes on the island start. You too can go exploring a little during our stop here, without straying too far.

Once on the bus again, we proceed to the next stop. This time, it is to build up our strength again with lunch (included in the price of the excursion) in one of the restaurants we have arranged, Las Rosas or la Zula, in the village of Agulo, where you can enjoy a typical meal, with cheese and "mojo canario" (traditional sauce).

At the restaurant there will be a demonstration of the Gomeran whistling language. In the old days, this was used by the inhabitants of the island as a way of communicating news or warnings.

There will also be time to go to the Visitors Centre "Juego de Bolas", in las Palmitas. Here you will be find abundant information on the Garajonay Park in its three exhibition halls, and you can enjoy its gardens with a wide range of flora from the Canaries and views of the island's peaks, cloaked in laurisilva forest.

The last stop will be in San Sebastián de la Gomera, the island's capital, where you will visit the Chapel and the Torre de Conde, a colonial fortification built in the times of the conquest and conceived more as a defence against possible attacks from the original inhabitants than against incursions from outside.

This will end our visit to the island of la Gomera: you will have passed through the towns and villages of San Sebastían de la Gomera, Hermigua,  Vallehermoso, Agulo and you will have visited a National Park and World Heritage site.
